      Miguel Castro

      Director of Racquet Sports

      [email protected]
With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Miguel Castro brings a lot of variables onto the court. As a junior, Miguel was named Virginia High School All-State Singles and rose to a ranking of 4th in the State. Miguel then went on the play as a walk-on for the Virginia Tech Men’s Varsity Team. During this time, Miguel worked as a summer teaching pro at Hidden Valley Country Club in Roanoke, Virginia before hanging up his racquets to teach high school geometry. Realizing that triangles were just as prevalent on the tennis court as in the classroom, Miguel ventured back to tennis as the resident tennis pro at the Boar’s Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Virginia, for more than 6 years before coming to the Westwood Club in 2007. Miguel combines his racquet skills with the mindset of a mathematician to help guide his students to better their strokes and strategies. Miguel enjoys working with both adults and juniors.
